[ad_1]

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will pivot to remote learning Friday Sept. 30 due to the latest projected path of Hurricane Ian, district officials announced Thursday.

All schools and facilities will be closed through Sunday. All services and activities will be canceled.

Students who have not been assigned a digital device may receive take-home packets from teachers, and attendance requirements for students will be communicated by the school principal, district officials announced.

Following the storm, district teams will assess all school sites for damage and clear debris which will allow employees and families to do the same.

Additional updates will be provided Sunday via phone, email and social media, the district said.

CMS joins other local districts to announce remote schedules including Lancaster County, Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Chester County and Clover.
