Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s SWAT team de-escalated two incidents in Charlotte on Thursday.
The first incident occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. in west Charlotte. Officers responded to a call for service referencing one individual that was shot near 12000 block of Moores Chapel Road.
Police said officers responded to the scene where witnesses reported an armed suspect was in the house.
The CMPD SWAT Team was called out to deescalate the situation. It was later determined that the suspect was no longer in the residence and the area was deemed safe.

The second incident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. in the University area.
Officers attempted to serve active warrants to an individual in the 9400 block of White Cedar Court. The suspect was wanted on several different charges related to domestic violence, aggravated assault and communicating threats.
Police say the suspect barricaded inside the residence and the CMPD SWAT team was called out to deescalate the situation.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
