CMPD: Shots fired at senior living home in west Charlotte


The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department arrested a subject at the Mulberry Senior Living Apartments following shots fired within the apartment on Sunday night.

According to a tweet by the department, just after 11 p.m., officers responded to a welfare call for service in the 5900 block of Tuckaseegee Road.

The subject of the welfare call fired shots from inside an apartment, police said.

Police said no one was struck or hurt by the gunfire. 

CMPD said officers de-escalated the situation going into early Monday morning.

At 8:05 a.m., CMPD tweeted: “The subject was taken into custody peacefully. He’s being evaluated by MEDIC as a precaution on scene.”
